Home of the 11-time Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings (NHL),  Joe Louis Arena is Detroit’s largest indoor venue seating nearly 21,000.  Located along the banks of the Detroit River, “The Joe” regularly hosts exciting attractions, including sellout crowds for professional sports, college hockey, concerts, family programming, corporate events and much more.

Joe Louis Arena is booked and operated by Olympia Entertainment, a Detroit-based company owned by entrepreneurs Michael and Marian Ilitch. As one of the country’s most diverse sport and entertainment companies and the largest organization of its kind in the mid-west, Olympia owns and operates Detroit’s Fox Theatre, the intimate City Theatre and also books Comerica Park. Over 10 million guests visited Ilitch-owned venues in 2010, representing half of the 20 million people that visited downtown Detroit; according to the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors’ Bureau.

Other Ilitch companies include: Little Caesars Pizza, Ilitch Holdings, Inc., Blue Line Foodservice Distribution, Champion Foods, the Detroit Red Wings, Little Caesar Pizza Kits Fundraising Program and Olympia Development. Additionally, Michael Ilitch owns the Detroit Tigers, Inc., and Marian Ilitch owns MotorCity Casino Hotel.
